The function of the school as an institution forming and educating children according to the will of the people and mould the country’s vision is a task which is the most challenging. All parties involved in the school institutions such as the government, administrators, teachers, parents and students assume greater responsibility in the success of generations of young people in the future. Reports in the press indicate improvement the number of juvenile crime committed by students such as gangsters, fights, rape, promiscuity and bully has to some extent affected the role schools as forming the self-esteem and education of future generations of the country. This issue with a crime and a serious violation of discipline occurred in the school. This issue needs to be dealt immediately and as soon as possible because it will not only tarnish the image of school as an institution shaping the identity and education of the nation but also will impact the survival and progress of the country in the future.

Aggressive behaviour problems of illegal and violated norms listed in society is one of the growing problems acute and requires a set of effective solution. Michael Gelder (2005) mention that aggressive is an act of extreme aggression can be problematic students discipline among the students that affect treatment and behaviour of students. Disciplinary problems created pressure on the students, families, school, community and country. Discipline is the power of social control indispensable for the creation of a peaceful and conditions. Student aggressive treatment poses many problems, especially to the school in creating teaching and learning smoothly and efficiently. Students who were aggressive at school need to be addressed and controlled from the outset that this issue does not drag on and become in turn can lead to more severe discipline problems and challenges integrity of the education system today. This is the reason why I choose this issue to discuss in detail.

Unfortunately, we often see a number of the act simply point fingers find out who is guilty without their energy and efforts to find formula and action to solve this problem. There’s just blame considered negligent parents for educating children, teachers blamed for cannot disciplining students in school and peer influence in treatment of children. To address this issue we need to find factors, the cause of this form of aggressive behaviour among students and the treatment that can be used to avoid this issue.


Conduct disorder refers to a group of behavioral and emotional problems in youngsters. According to Smith et.al (2003), children and adolescents with this disorder have great difficulty following rules and behaving in a socially acceptable way. They are often viewed by other children, adults and social agencies as “bad” or delinquent, rather than mentally ill. Many factors may contribute to a child developing conduct disorder, including brain damage, child abuse, genetic vulnerability, school failure, and traumatic life experiences.

According to DSM IV, aggressive behaviour is one of the components of the conduct disorder that consists of physical or verbal behaviour that harm or threaten with harming others. Abdullah et.al (2014) had made a research on aggressive and delinquent behavior among high risk youth in Malaysia. In the research, they try to measure the level of aggressive and delinquent behaviour, identify the most common delinquent behaviours, and examine the associations of aggressive and delinquent behaviour with demographic factors and individual characteristics among a sample of high risk Malaysian youth. The results indicate that although the sample consisted of high risk youth, participants scored low in delinquent behaviour and moderate in aggressive behaviour. The findings also show significant associations between delinquent behaviour levels with both age and ethnicity; but no significant associations with gender or religion. Results indicate that common perceptions about at-risk youth may run contrary to reality; despite being at-risk, the respondents displayed lower-than-expected levels of delinquency, and moderate aggressive behaviour.

It becomes a serious concern and must be tackled immediately before becoming greater and therefore pose a threat to the country


Student discipline problems in schools today has become hot news to discuss. It involves not only the school, but also involves the Ministry of Education. The police in taking action against the students involved because the issue is not just a small problem, but there are already beyond the problem of crime. At school, discipline is the rule that imposed on students with the purpose of controlling their behaviour through punishment. Students are supposed to have a good behaviour and self-discipline during teaching and learning activities. Disciplinary mechanism aimed at to foster growth and create healthy relationships between all the public schools.

The students in this day and age have dared to act outside the limits. They are willing to kill and wounding another student. This incident happened due to jealousy, envy and jealousy among them. Such students cannot control their feelings willing to kill and injure others. Such a thing should not happen in our society is full of oriental tradition. This aggressive behaviour make school doesn’t save anymore to our children. If not checked it will be worse next to a big social problem among young people in the future.

According to Ahmad (2008) adolescence is a process of growing up and a mature individual and has a positive attitude in the association community in the adult stage. For the children, they will enter the stage of adolescence at the age of 13 years. Teenagers will be stepped up to adulthood in the age group of 19 years. This means that a man will be in the teens for more less than seven years. At this stage the adolescent is going through various changes either in terms of mental, physical, emotional and personality. The formation of an adolescent personality result of the interaction of genetic factors and the environment. Genetic factors come from parent’s adolescent birth. While other factors are setting up of peer pressure and the system social, care patterns, religious education and lifestyle.


Aggressive behaviour is behaviour that causes physical or emotional harm to others, or threatens to. It can range from verbal abuse to the destruction of a victim’s personal property. People with aggressive behaviour tend to be irritable, impulsive, and restless. Aggressive behaviour is intentional, meaning it’s done on purpose, violates social norms, and causes a breakdown in a relationship. Emotional problems are the most common cause of aggressive behaviour. Aggressive behaviour is a problem because it occurs frequently or in a pattern. Generally speaking, aggressive behaviour stems from an inability to control behaviour, or from a misunderstanding of what behaviours are appropriate. Aggressive behaviour can be reactive, or in retaliation. It can also be proactive, as an attempt to provoke a victim. It can be either overt or secretive. Aggressive behaviour can also be self-directed. When the issue was raised we see there are many factors that cause a student to act aggressive. Many factors are involved such individuals. How the individual adapts himself to the parents, siblings, friends, neighbourhood, school and society. Failure to communicate and interact well makes them particularly teenagers facing problems and conduct disorders began to show negative attitude inconsistent with the proper attitude to be maintained in their teens.

According to Idris (2008) the results from her journals showed that the level of students at the level of aggressive is high. If viewed from the aspect of students, there is a perceived pattern of friendship among students who are not healthy. Aggressive behaviour such as this will affect the good relations among the students themselves. Such groups should be given the necessary assistance so that these problems can be reduced. As a teacher, they need to engage students in group activities. A healthy, peaceful, and harmonious will provide an atmosphere that encourages learning process in schools

Family problems are often brought to school by children or students. Therefore to address these challenges it is needed a more thorough approach in understanding how identity crisis, emotional stress and boredom impact the way in which young Malaysians behave and interact with their community, and preventive programs that combine competency skills, and moral values education. However, a better understanding of youth crime, delinquency and aggressive behaviour among Malaysian adolescent is crucial, and it is highly recommended that further study are carried out to obtain in-depth data in order to elicit relevant and contextual information about the factors, motives and impact associated to aggressive behaviour in Malaysian youth.


As we all know, when aggressive behaviour or discipline problems occur in the classroom, teaching and learning will be affected. Intensity disruption to learn and teaching environment are related to the type of the frequency and duration of these behaviours. An effective treatment and problems will hinder the country’s desire to achieve a developed nation by 2020. As we know, an advanced civilization is a civilization that is not only high performance and advanced development but also the spiritual aspect and character of its citizens. In addition, it will also have a negative effect on the country’s view of the outside world. The tourists will not come to a country with social problems. There is no psychiatric diagnosis of ‘aggressive behaviour disorder’. Rather, aggressive behaviour may be a symptom of a number of DSM—IV psychiatric diagnoses, including conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, behaviour disorder not otherwise specified, intermittent explosive disorder, impulse control disorder not otherwise specified and some personality disorders. Thus, aggressive behaviour may be related to a very wide range of diagnoses. The best way is to use a method of treating psychopathology therapy. The therapy that been recommended is behaviour therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy.

Applied behaviour analysis (ABA) is the natural science of observable behaviour. It focuses on observable behaviour that is public and measurable. Observable behaviour has several dimensions, such as frequency, duration, latency, intensity and sequencing. Interventions are based on learning principles and an understanding of the idiosyncratic environmental events maintaining each person’s behaviour. According to Corey (2009) the most important element of ABA is enhancing the client’s quality of life and social acceptance, by teaching behaviours that are valued by the client and significant others around them and which are also functional in replacing the client’s aggression. Thus, ABA emphasises teaching social skills, language skills, educational and vocational skills, and coping strategies, such as relaxation training, problem solving and anger management. Interventions that do not include these elements do not include an essential element of ABA. ABA also emphasises the current environmental events.

According to Barlow and Durand (2012), two common learning mechanisms in behaviour therapy are classical and operant conditioning. Many examples of classical conditioning are associated with survival functions such as eating, drinking and avoidance of danger. Its antecedents control classically conditioned behaviour. Examples of interventions based on antecedent control include systematic desensitisation and some forms of anger management. For example, suppose social criticism is an antecedent that elicits aggression towards another person. A client might be taught relaxation training and be gradually exposed to progressively more provocative forms of criticism paired with relaxation training. This intervention is based on changing the relationship between antecedents and behaviour.

In contrast, operant behaviour is controlled by its consequences. In operant learning, the consequences of behaviour — reinforces and punishers — determine the future probability of behaviour. Operant learning is probably more important than classical conditioning. Operant learning using techniques such as shaping has been used to teach many important social and language skills. Shaping is sometimes described as ‘successive approximations’, because, over time, closer and closer approximations to the final response being taught are reinforced.

Apart from that is using cognitive behaviour therapy as a treatment to aggressive behaviour. Baker and Scarth (2002) modern behavior therapists recognize that it is as important to address children’s thoughts as it is to address their actual problem behaviors. This is because thoughts can serve a motivating function. If children have a wrong, overgeneralized or otherwise exaggerated understanding of a situation, this can make them more likely to misbehave. Cognitive-behavioral approaches to therapy teach children and parents both to identify and address faulty beliefs that make conflict more likely and to help dismantle and debunk those beliefs. As a part of cognitive behavior therapy, therapists work with adolescent to help them develop several important cognitive skills, including cognitive reframing of stressful events such as helping children to generate alternative, more peaceful ways of thinking about the meaning of stressful situations so that anger is not an automatic consequence. Anger management training, which generally involves teaching people to better manage frustration feelings by learning to recognize and defuse anger sensations with reframing and relaxation techniques such as muscle relaxation or deep breathing, may also be taught

The use behaviour theory and cognitive theory makes adolescents more likely to be treated for psychological. They have to learn and learn and unlearn to accept the concept of this theory to threat aggressive behaviour. The problem here is how the teenager was turning himself and control the thinking for the better and change the attitude of young people to become visionary and successful in life.


There are other ways to help treat students who are experiencing aggressive attitude. It is an approach for Islamic. When a student in an aggressive one must take ablution and draw closer to Allah by performing the five daily prayers, prayers and pray and read the Quran and chanting all the time, God willing, your heart will be calm and stress decreases. This coincided with the word of God that says: “Is not the remembrance of Allah, be careful to be quiet ..” (Surah Ar’Ra’d, 28) al-Quran as a therapy for aggressive behaviour. Pray and ask God in earnest all the time, especially after the time for prayer and intercession in times of trouble and be happy that God may simplify the problem and the stress experienced by his servant. Always grateful for all the blessings that God has bestowed on His servants as nice parents, children and family, health, work, leisure, food and so on. Allah says in the Quran:

“Do men think that they will be left alone on saying,” We believe “and they will not be tested? Mocked We have tested those before them, they (the test is) a real God what is known about the people who are true believers, and real what He knows best those who lie. ” (Al-Ankabut: 2-3)

Healing therapy through verses of the Quran requires time, discipline and patience confidence. Patients should not be expected to recite these days, the disease will be cured on the next day. Patience and confidence are very important in the treatment process. Patients must believe in miracles verses of the Quran and the most important prayer to God to apply the healing, blessings and mercy. Many ask, why is the Quran given, the translation has nothing to do with the disease that afflicts the patient or the cure or the disease being treated. Actually, all the verses of the Quran were revealed by God to be a panacea and cannot be explained by logic. Each cluster of sentences gives an aura of its own nature to cure our heart. Translation is not the size that a Quranic verse that has nothing to do with function and healing properties or symptoms of disease. Every beginning is doomed to extinction, every problem has a solution and every disease there is a cure. Believe in God, He can certainly help us.


Unconsciously aware of student discipline problems result from this aggressive action available is growing every year. This problem not only involves students, but also the parents and the school. In dealing with student discipline problems, there are some steps that need to be done by the various parties. In addressing the issue of student discipline, school authorities should play a major role. The school may take appropriate action on the problem of discipline in schools. Party discipline schools must function properly and in accordance with established procedures. Ministry of Education can also take measures necessary to deal with disciplinary problems in school. This is because the Ministry of Education has the power to enact new laws to improve student discipline problems. The Ministry of Education also must monitor the state of discipline in the school at all times. Action Ministry of Education requested the cooperation of the police in dealing with student discipline is a good action. In addition, the Ministry of Education should take firm action to the school administration is trying to hide the problem of discipline in their schools. When all parties work together, the problems of students who behave aggressively in school can be prevented thereby reducing the levels of discipline problems at school.


It is undeniable that the problem of aggression among adolescents which hit Malaysia has increased substantially recently. Teens nowadays life is full of challenges for progress and modernity so that they live in freedom. Parents play the most important role in combating social problems because they are the closest relatives for their children. Parents themselves must play their character by setting a good example and do things that are not right in front of their children. This is because children like whites who do not know about anything and parents are the person responsible for the fill in the blank. Parents must provide teaching and instruction to their children at an early age so they’re high personal qualities. Furthermore, parents should foster friendly relations among their children. They should spend time with the children to carry out activities such as reading, drawing dab play badminton. They should also give attention and affection in full and provide a harmonious environment for their children.

In addition, the school is also one of the ways that you can prevent these problems. Teachers seem to parents of young adults in the school. Teachers advise and assist them should they encounter any problems in school. Teachers of religion, moral education and civic and citizenship education’s role is to provide religious and moral education to the students. This subject is a step towards forming a noble personality of the adolescent and also serves to foster positive values among teenagers. Students who have faith and strong moral values are believed to be easily deceived by a friend to do something immoral. School counselling and guidance unit shall conduct regular counselling sessions with students, especially those involved with discipline problems so as to form self-confident in their persons.
